CMT Router Bits - 800 Entry and Passage Door Router Bit Set

The new CMT Entry and Passage Door Set offers production quality and versatility of function lacking in existing DIY entry door sets. To produce an entry or passage door in either of the two common thicknesses (1-3/8” and 1-3/4”), one cutter is used to cut the long grain profile on all of the parts. As with cabinet doors, a second cutter is used to cope the ends of the rails to match the long grain cut. Because entry and passage doors demand a large tenon for a lifetime of strength, CMT includes a third bit in the set that is specifically designed for cutting tenons. No other door kit includes such a bit! 3 HP routers can cut the tenon in hardwood in two passes. 2-1/4” HP routers can make the tenon cut in three passes. To cut the mortise in the door stiles, a bench top mortiser, drill press or a plunge router with the CMT #191.507.11 up cut solid carbide spiral bit can be utilized.

This three piece set simplfies door construction, making it as easy as 1,2,3! It is not the only advantage, in fact, this is a multi-functional set for door makers and furniture makers building entry doors, passage doors and any furniture tenons. The included tenon cutter produces a beefy 1-1/16" long tenon. Coupled with the cope cutter, you can produce long and strong tenons with minimum set up. As an extra bonus the tenon cutter can be used for furniture making work that requires any tenon from 3/16" to 5/8" thick. DVD AND INSTRUCTION MANUAL ARE INCLUDED.
